Cork Foundation recently held two events in the USA. In New York, Denis O’Brien hosted a lunch at which key Irish-American contacts were introduced to the initiative. Following that very successful event, the Foundation travelled to Washington DC, where the Irish Ambassador hosted a dinner for Irish-American dignitaries and business leaders to once again inspire others to support the Foundation.

Cork Foundation works with donors both in Ireland and abroad to bridge the funding gap and provide financial support for entrepreneurs, SMEs and Community Enterprises in Cork city and county. This support drives employment growth, assists with economic recovery, and helps develop Cork as the best region in Ireland to start, locate, and grow a business.  The Foundation’s unique initiative is the first of its kind in Ireland.

Commenting on the events, Yvonne Barry, Chairperson Cork Foundation and Partner at Quintas said: “We need contributions from the many Cork people scattered all over the globe to make our goal of creating sustainable jobs in Cork a reality. Events, such as the two held in the US, are very important for the future development of new sustainable jobs for Cork.”
