Springboard PR & Marketing along with Cork City Council and the Inter-Departmental Marine Coordination Group (MCG) have been shortlisted for a prestigious national PR award for SeaFest 2019.

The annual Excellence in PR Awards, jointly run by the Public Relations Consultants Association (PRCA) and Public Relations Institute of Ireland (PRII), recognise excellence in public relations in Ireland.

Springboard PR & Marketing was shortlisted for its work with Cork City Council and the MCG to promote SeaFest in 2019. More than 90,000 visitors attended Ireland’s largest free family-friendly maritime festival last year at the Port of Cork, Cork City. Running from Friday, 7 June to Sunday, 9 June, there were over 100 free events to enjoy, all celebrating our oceans. You can view our case study on SeaFest HERE.

Speaking on the announcement, Springboard PR & Marketing Managing Director and Strategic Lead, Susie Horgan said: “SeaFest was a fantastic campaign to work on with Cork City Council and the MCG. With events like cooking demos from top Irish chefs, vessel tours, water sports, interactive workshops and even a breath-taking aerial walk across the River Lee, it helped those of all ages to think about their connection with the water and how the actions they make today can make a difference tomorrow. Being shortlisted is a fantastic acknowledgement of the hard work, creativity and passion that we put into each and every campaign we work on.

“Unfortunately, SeaFest 2020 wasn’t able to happen this year, but we look forward to seeing it back in Cork again in 2021, for what will be another spectacular event.”

The 2020 winners of the Excellence in PR Awards will be announced in the coming weeks.
