Leading public relations firm, Springboard PR & Marketing, were today shortlisted for a prestigious national PR Award. The Excellence in PR Awards are annual national awards hosted by the PRCA (Ireland), the Public Relations Institute of Ireland and CIPR Northern Ireland, to recognise excellence in public relations in Ireland.

Springboard PR & Marketing were nominated for their acclaimed ‘CUH Charity’s Visa Day Fundraiser,’ under the ‘Best Communications Campaign by a Charity or Not-For-Profit Organisation’ category.

Speaking on the announcement, Springboard PR & Marketing Managing Director, Susie Horgan said: “We are delighted with this nomination. The CUH Charity Visa Day Fundraiser was a fantastic campaign to work on and although it was a completely Cork run event, it really touched the hearts and minds of people nationally. Being shortlisted is an acknowledgement of the hard work and attention to detail on which we pride ourselves.”

The ‘CUH Charity Visa Day Fundraiser’ was a successful multi-layered campaign, which spanned Cork city and county and united local businesses and public volunteers.

The ‘CUH Charity Visa Day Fundraiser’ campaign attracted the involvement of national and international sporting stars including: Rob Heffernan, Derval O’Rourke and Munster Rugby players Donnacha Ryan and Peter O’Mahony. The level of exposure generated by this campaign proved invaluable for CUH Charity as it raised over €52,000 for the Children’s Unit Appeal in just one day, on Cork Independence Day, October 16, 2013.

The Excellence in PR Award winners are due to be announced at a gala luncheon in Dublin’s Shelbourne Hotel on Friday, 20 June.
