CUH Charity Launches Appeal for Children of Munster
The CUH Charity held a launch event today at the Cork University Hospital (CUH) to announce its first appeal to raise €1.5m to refurbish CUH Children’s Unit. The appeal is being supported by rugby star and parent, Ronan O’Gara and other charity patrons such as Donal Lenihan, Aidan O’Brien and Dr Clare O’Leary. CUH Charity has been established to raise funds across all departments to improve facilities and services for patients and visitors attending Cork University Hospital.
Photo Art Exhibition featuring Irish Design & Craft opens at Designworks Studio
The WILDERNESS photography exhibition launched on Friday, 2nd Novembe at Designworks Studio, Cornmarket Street, Cork. Pictured at the launch were Tuula Harrington, proprietor, Designworks Studio, Eddie Shanahan, Art Director, WILDERNESS, and guest speaker, Trish Brennan, from Crawford Art and Design. The exhibition runs until the 23rd of November and is free to the public.
Over 160 members of the farming community attended the ‘Your Farm Your Business’ Seminar on the 19th October, to hear Simon Coveney, Minister for Agriculture Food and the Marine TD and speakers Ronan Enright, Michael Enright and Co. Solicitors, Michael Brady , The Brady Group, Michael Mullins of Moore Stephens Nathans.
Minister for Agriculture to open farming seminar in Cork
Members of the farming community will come together for a unique farming seminar entitled, “Your farm, your business”, on the 19th of October 2012, to discuss the success of their farms from a legal, financial and taxation perspective. Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney will open the event, which will begin at 6pm at the Carrigaline Court Hotel. It is a free event, open to all in the farming community.
Cork Opera House starts first nationwide tour of acclaimed Dido & Aeneas
Cork Opera House, today starts its first nationwide tour of their critically acclaimed production of Henry Purcell’s masterpiece Dido and Aeneas. Supported by the Arts Council of Ireland, the Opera will launch with its first performance at the Kilkenny Arts Festival on the 15th and 16th of August, followed by an exclusive one-night-only performance at Cork Opera House on the 25th August, with remaining nights at the Town Hall, Galway, 28th August and the Mermaid Arts Centre, Wicklow on the 6th September 2012.
