Two successful Stateside events held on behalf of the Cork Foundation

Cork Foundation recently held two events in the USA. In New York, Denis O’Brien hosted a lunch at which key Irish-American contacts were introduced to the initiative. Following that very successful event, the Foundation travelled to Washington DC, where the Irish Ambassador hosted a dinner for Irish-American dignitaries and business leaders to once again inspire others to support the Foundation.

59th Cork Film Festival draws to a close amid news of approval for Academy Awards®

The winning films of the Grand Prix Irish Award and Grand Prix International Award at the Cork Film Festival will be eligible for consideration in the Live Action Short Film or Animated Short Film categories of the Academy Awards®, it was announced tonight at the closing gala, as the festival has this very week achieved the status of Academy Awards® qualifying festival.

Cork Foundation continues to help build sustainable jobs in Cork

Cork Foundation, a not-for-profit fund for Cork businesses and community enterprises, held their inaugural Dublin lunch at Fire Restaurant, The Mansion House, Dublin on Friday, 10th October. The Guest Speaker at the lunch was John Moran the Director of the European Investment Bank and Former Secretary General of the Department of Finance. The event brought together key business people from both Cork and Dublin to generate jobs for Cork City and County.

Full programme unveiled for the 59th Cork Film Festival

The 59th edition of the Cork Film Festival, which runs 7th-16th November, was launched at the River Lee Hotel, Western Road, Cork, on Tuesday, 7th of October, at 6pm. This year’s Festival features an exciting line up of Galas, awards, big film and movie stars, and special events. The special live events include Pat Shortt in conversation with Jarlath and Christy Moore in conversation with Philip King, both in the Cork Opera House.

Former Secretary General of the Department of Finance to speak at Cork Foundation Dublin Lunch

Cork Foundation will host their inaugural Dublin lunch at Fire Restaurant, The Mansion House, Dublin on 10th of October at 12.30pm. The aim of the event is to bring together key business people from both Cork and Dublin to generate jobs for Cork City and County. Director of the European Investment Bank and Former Secretary General of the Department of Finance, John Moran, will be the guest speaker on the day.

World Premieres, Living Legends, Björk and more in the Cork Film Festival 2014

The Cork Film Festival – Ireland’s oldest Film Festival- today released preliminary details of its exciting programme for its 59th Edition (7 -16 November), which launches and goes on sale on Tuesday 7 October, a month before its opening.
At 10:00am Wednesday 8 October, tickets become available for Festival Friends exclusively for 48 hours, with full public access starting 10:00am Friday 10 October.
