CUH Charity named today as this year’s Charity Partner for the Cork Guinness Jazz Festival, running from the 23rd -27th October 2014. In the coming weeks, and over the Festival weekend, CUH Charity volunteers will be on the streets of Cork asking people to purchase raffle tickets for a fantastic Royal Caribbean Mediterranean Cruise courtesy of Shandon Travel Cork.

All proceeds will go to support a wide range of life changing and lifesaving equipment and services for patients attending the hospital. The prize draw will take place on the Sunday of the Festival.

The CUH Charity fundraises for all departments in Cork University Hospital including: cancer services, the cardiac wing, neurology and the Children’s Unit.

Speaking at the announcement, Fiona Collins, Jazz Festival secretary said: “We are delighted to be supporting the CUH Charity this year. Anyone who lives in Cork, or the surrounding counties, has experienced the hospital at some point in their life. Therefore we felt it was a perfect charity partner as it’s a cause that touches a lot of peoples’ hearts.”

Covering the regional area of Cork, Limerick, Kerry, Tipperary, Waterford, Clare and Kilkenny; over 1 million patients attend Cork University Hospital every year, making it the biggest and one of the busiest hospitals in the country.

“We are asking the people of Munster to get behind the raffle fundraiser and purchase tickets or volunteer their time to help raise as much funds as possible for all units in CUH. We urgently need volunteers and we ask people to please give us even an hour of their time to help make this partnership as successful as possible.” said Bernie O’Halloran, Fundraising Executive, CUH Charity.

To volunteer or to purchase tickets please contact the CUH Charity office on 021 4234529 or email info@cuhcharity.ie.
