Happy Christmas

It’s been an action and event-packed year for us here at Springboard PR & Marketing and already we are setting our sights on 2016, which promises to be every bit as eventful. We’ve had some stand-out moments in 2015 that we want to share with you, before we bid the year farewell.

We started out the year by launching Cork University Hospital’s new breast cancer app, FYI: Breast Cancer.

In March, we were delighted to be the communications team for the St Patrick’s Day celebrations, securing popular national broadcaster George Hook as the Parade Grand Marshall. 65,000 people took part in the celebrations.

The following month, we managed publicity for the first ever architectural festival in Cork, Open House, which drew people in their droves.

Ireland rugby team’s Head Coach Joe Schmidt helped us to launch leading law firm Ronan Daly Jermyn’s new Dublin offices in May.

The Summer was a flurry of events and festival activity for us, beginning with the inaugural ‘Jumping in the City’ equestrian show-jumping event. We were delighted when it won ‘ “Best Innovation in Sport” award at the Sport Industry Awards 2015.

This was closely followed by Cork’s MidSummer Festival, with the Our Table outdoor banquet on Oliver Plunkett Street a high point of the festivities and a hugely successful event.

We launched a cutting edge new fertility assessment service, My Fertility Check. You can hear Today FM’s Anton Savage show interview here.

We also announced the birth of two healthy baby girls as a result of the ground-breaking IVF treatments, Pre-Implantation Genetic Diagnosis and Pre-Implantation Genetic Screening at Cork Fertility Centre.

In 2015, we were delighted to play a role in securing the principal partnership between the 60th Cork Film Festival and RTE – the most significant partnership RTE has made with any event in Cork.

The 60th Cork Film Festival was an exciting and prestigious milestone in European Film Festivals and attracted extensive media coverage. You can check out some of RTE’s coverage here.

Another significant announcement we made was Seabrook Technology Group’s new partnership with Siemens PLM Software. We also enjoyed working with UCC to launch its new Centre for the Study of the Moral Foundations of Economy & Society in November. You can listen to Newstalk’s Moncrieff Show interview here.

At Springboard’s offices, we welcomed some new recruits during the year. Lonán Paul, an experienced national broadcast and print journalist joined us as Account Manager in August. Lonán brings her expertise in media relations and media training to our team. David O’Sullivan, a published online journalist and radio newsreader also joined us in November and brings an extensive knowledge of local media.

The whole team would like to wish all our valued clients and friends a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
