New online centre of excellence for Irish Maths announces 15 new jobs

Positivemaths.ie, Ireland’s first online centre of excellence for Maths Students in Ireland launched with the announcement of 15 new jobs for maths teachers and tutors over the next 2 years. Positivemaths.ie focuses on small tutorials (maximum of 6 to 10 per class) offering more student to teacher contact and a new unique diagnostic service called DRIVE – Diagnose, Review, Implement, Verify, Evaluate developed by Irish Engineer and Entrepreneur John Devlin.

Olympic Athlete asks for support for Cork University Hospital’s ICU Team in the Cork City Marathon

Olympic athlete Derval O’Rourke, patron of the Cork University Hospital (CUH) Charity, is asking participants in the Cork City Marathon, on the 3rd of June, to run in aid of the CUH Charity’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Appeal.

Diamond Wishes Ball in aid of the Children’s Unit at Cork University Hospital

he Cork University Hospital (CUH) Charity will host their inaugural Diamond Wishes Black and Bling Ball on the 19th April at Rochestown Park Hotel, Cork in aid of their €1.5m appeal to refurbish the existing Children’s Unit at the CUH. A new event for Cork’s social calendar, the tickets are only €50 each with all proceeds going to the Appeal and can be booked by emailing info@cuhcharity.ie or calling 021 4234529.

New initiative is key to unlocking funds for Cork enterprise

Cork Foundation, a new not-for-profit funding organisation established by a group of leading business and public figures to help drive social and economic growth throughout the Cork region, will be launched this evening, 7th March 2013, at the Port of Cork, Custom House Street, Cork by Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Simon Coveney, TD and the Chairman of the Cork Foundation Strategic Board, Sean O’ Driscoll, Chairman and CEO, Glen Dimplex. Acting as a catalyst to economic and social development, the Cork Foundation is the first of its kind in Ireland. With an initial target to raise €5 million, the Foundation’s aim is to connect contributors from home and abroad directly to Cork businesses and community enterprises.

Cork born adventurer and CUH Charity patron, Dr Clare O’ Leary begins her year by launching a ‘Call to Action’ for volunteers and donations to raise €1.5m for the refurbishment of the outdated Children’s Unit at the Cork University Hospital. This is the first time the Children’s Unit has appealed to the public for funds. Once The Children’s Appeal has reached its fundraising goal, the CUH Children’s Unit will become a single centre of excellence for children in the Munster region.

BNI Cork City Chapter hosts charity networking event to kick-start 2013

Business Network International’s (BNI) Cork City Chapter will hold a mentoring and networking evening at Nemo Rangers GAA Club, off South Douglas Road, Douglas at 6.15pm to 9pm on Tuesday 15th January 2013. The entrance fee is €15 with all proceeds going to Cork Rebel Wheelers, a volunteer run sports club for people with physical disabilities. Along with a networking event attendees will be offered mentoring sessions with the professional experts of the Cork City Chapter, who have referred over €7m worth of business to each other over the past three years.

Festive Family Fun Run in aid of the Children’s Unit at Cork University Hospital

The CUH Charity will hold a 7k family fun run, walk or crawl on Saturday, 15th December at 11am, along the Lough Mahon walk, leaving from and returning to the car park down from the Blackrock Castle. This fundraising initiative is in aid of their appeal to raise €1.5m for the Cork University Hospital (CUH) Children’s Unit. Entry to the walk will be €20 per adult, while children go free.

Contracting PLUS Announces 30 New Jobs

Ireland’s leading accountants for professional contractors, CXC Consultants Exchange, today announced their new name, Contracting PLUS. Further to their buyout of foreign investors, Contracting PLUS is now a wholly owned Irish company with expansion plans in Ireland as well as in the UK and Europe which will lead to the creation of 30 new jobs, 17 of which will be in their Irish offices in Dublin and Cork.
