The Ireland Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI) is proud to announce they have been selected as finalists in the 2017 PMI Chapter of the Year Awards. The Ireland Chapter is one of 12 finalists selected from over 150 applicants globally. 
The awards recognise outstanding chapters from around the world. Each of the three categories has four finalists, with the Ireland Chapter nominated in Category II: 301 – 1500 Members.
Winners will be announced at the PMI Leadership Institute meeting in Chicago on October 26-28, 2017.
Commenting on the announcement, Ireland Chapter of PMI President, Niall Murphy said: “We are delighted to be have been selected as one of the four finalists in this category. This nomination is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our chapter volunteers.
“With the economic uncertainty caused by Brexit, project managers and their associated skills are more essential than ever. We are dedicated to providing the highest level of training and support to project managers nationwide, and this nomination reflects that commitment.”
The Ireland Chapter of PMI recently announced their own inaugural National Project Awards, which are to take place on November 1, 2017 at the Dublin offices of sponsor PwC. The National Project Awards, to be held on the eve of International Project Management Day 2017, are proudly supported by PwC.
The awards will promote the vital role of project managers in the changing times ahead and will shine a spotlight on the best practice being developed to overcome obstacles that threaten project success in Ireland’s business community. For more on the National Project Awards, see projectawards.ie.
Membership of the Ireland Chapter of PMI has grown by 16% in the past 12 months, to over 1,250 members. There are currently over 50,000 employed in project management across Ireland, in sectors such as IT, public sector, construction, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.
