Award-winning design-led jewellery store, Designworks Studio, is celebrating five years of business with the unveiling of a spectacular new jewellery collection. Aptly named Duille Nua, or “New Leaf”, the collection is designed by head-goldsmith and Designworks owner, Tuula Harrington.

Her latest collection incorporates a combination of materials, and plays with imagery of the stylised leaf and simplistic branch. It is inspired by the idea of fresh beginnings and a sense of renaissance.

This new collection, and era for Designworks Studio, will be celebrated this Thursday, June 30th, with an evening champagne reception for clients.

Commenting on the five-year milestone, Ms Harrington said: “When I launched the Designworks Studio in 2011, I wanted to promote authentic Irish design and craftsmanship, and keep the trade alive by supporting craftspeople in the industry. In the past five years, we have experienced positive growth and we are now firmly established as a well-regarded, independent business.”

Ms Harrington continued “The team here at Designworks Studio is excited about reaching this significant milestone, and we are buoyed by the real drive out there to support local business to purchase well-made, authentic Irish design.”

Many of the gallery’s featured designers will be in attendance at Thursday’s event, with some of their new work also to be unveiled. Along with the creation of one-off, bespoke handmade pieces, Designworks Studio also offers a wide collection of ready-to-wear pieces.

Currently, the space is hosting work by three in-house goldsmiths, Tuula Harrington, Oliver Healy and Paula O’Callaghan. There are also pieces by acclaimed jewellery designers Helena Malone, Maria Dorai-Raj Ger Breslin and others.
